These loveable little yellow creatures are vying for the title of the fastest rubber ducky in the state. It's the last and most exciting event during the West Virginia State Water Festival. Early in August these strange yellow birds arrive in Hinton for competition in the "Great Rubber Ducky Race." These little duckies are looking forward to the same stiff competition they have come to expect at this race that is one of the annual fund-raising events for the Campbell-Flannagan-Murrell House Museum.
The Grand Prize for the lucky holder with the ticket for the fastest duck is $500 or 10% of the profit, whichever is greater. Numerous other wonderful prizes are also awarded to lucky ducky ticket holders. Contact us and get your race tickets before it's too late and cheer for your favorite little yellow bird. Each has a distinctive marking making them easily identifiable.
Don't miss your chance to win $500 and support efforts toward restoring the oldest residential home in Hinton's National Historic District by buying tickets for a mere $5 each or five for $20 to sponsor a duck in the race. Then come and watch as these lovable creatures test their skills and vie for the title of the fastest rubber ducky in West Virginia.
